ROAD TRIP

KATRINA AND I STARTED TODAY FOR FLORIDA. WE STOPPED AT GRACELAND AND TOOK THE TOURS. WE LOVED IT. THEN WE MADE OUR WAY DOWN TO HATTIESBERG MS. POOR TRINA HAD TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY. MY VISION IS STILL BLURRY, WE THINK IT IS FROM THE SURGERY YESTERDAY. ALL I KNOW IS IT SUCKS!!! WE ARE LEAVING EARLY IN THE MORNING TO PENSACOLA BEACH.

CASEY HAS POST FROM NOON TO 6PM. WE ARE PLANNING TO GO ON BASE AFTER THAT TO SEE HIM. CAN'T WAIT.

17 DAYS AT HOME

Casey made it home in time to celebrate Christmas with us. We enjoyed him very much or let me rephrase that, the time we saw him. He spent most of his time catching up with his buddies. That was ok. He spent the last night with us, we had a nice dinner then played board games. Didn't go to bed until 12:30am. We had to have him at the airport at 5:30am the next morning. Boy was I tired. He was supposed to check in at Camp Pendelton at 1:30. His plane was delayed leaving Springfield, so he missed his connecting flight in Denver. He spent all day at Denver on stand by. He called us at 8:00pm and said he had finally made it to San Diego. We are already missing him.

FAMILY DAY AT MCRD

We arrived at the Base at 9:00 this morning. The motivational run started at 10:00. This was the first time we have seen him in 13 weeks. It was very emotional. He looked great. After the run they came back and introduced each plattoon. His platton was the Honor Plattoon. We went in the theater for a D.I. presentation. Thought that would never end. Then we went out to the Parade Deck for formations. It was so cool. After they were dismissed, we spent the day with him on base. Fed him twice. I am sure he probably had a stomach ache tonight. Pizza, stromboli and ice cream twice. Graduation is tomorrow. Then he will come back to the hotel with us. Can't wait.

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY CASEY WILL GRADUATE FROM MCRD BOOT CAMP!!!

We will be leaving for San Diego on December 15th. Can't wait to see him. We will get to be with him on Thursday afternoon. He will graduate on Friday and will return home on Saturday. He will be arriving in Springfield, Saturday night at 10:45pm.

Deer Camp

We went to Cow Shed opening season to deer hunt. Joey & Pam Custer, Chris & Trina, Lane, Nathan, Brian and I. We didn't kill anything down there. Joey and Pam hunted at our house when we got back and shot a spike buck. It started raining before we got it back to the house. We were all soaked. What a way to end the deer hunting weekend. I think next year we should just camp at our house and hunt. But then we would miss all of the camping fun and food.

I am trying to get a blog ready so when we go to San Diego. Cindy is trying to help me. She will be tired of me asking all the questions. Thank goodness she is a good friend.
